We are the pioneers of kayaking in Venezuela and Mozambique, and have used our wealth of experience to make sure that your Jakera experience is a unique adventure in these stunning destinations.

Our guides are outstanding not only because of their knowledge as very experienced outdoor professionals but also because of their ability to ensure each of their groups has an unforgettable fun time. Many are international guides, having worked in New Zealand, Europe and the USA. A truly fun bunch!

4. We use modern, well maintained equipment

We provide all kayaking and camping gear, including waterproof bags, roomy dome tents, comfortable camp chairs, sleeping mats, you need only bring your clothes and personal gear and we can even supply snorkelling gear for you. You shouldn't have to go to the trouble or expense of pre-trip shopping. Every piece of equipment we use is top quality and we maintain our kayaks in perfect working order.

5. Transport to and from our base

We are an official travel agent, and as such can organise all your travel needs. For example internal flights to Puerto La Cruz, pick-ups from Hotels and airports etc.

6. Comfort and convenience provided at our Venezuelan Jakera Lodge

Our base provides spacious and fun accommodation, areas specially built for trip briefing preparation and relaxation on return and many extra facilities for your comfort and convenience with a bar and restaurant.

7. Small group size

We limit the number of guests on our tours to a maximum of 6. Our guide to client ratio is 1:3. Smaller groups mean that we'll have less impact on the environment and you get more individual attention assuring a tip-top-tastic time.

8. Delicious catering

We have developed great menus for our catered trips, and we are continually complemented on the variety and quality of the food.

9. Jakera's comprehensive safety procedures and briefings provide ease of mind

We have an impeccable safety record. We operate to strict guidelines and have developed additional safety features, such as GPS Navigation and satellite phones for safety.

10. Protection of the environment

We are pioneering the clean-up of Venezuela with the Venezuelan government ! Jakera actively introduces clean the beaches programs, and we have adopted several remote island beaches that we keep clean.

11. No experience is necessary

You don't need any prior kayaking experience to join our trips. Sea kayaks are stable, comfortable, very seaworthy and ideal for exploring coastlines, or steaming jungles. With the help of experienced guides, novice paddlers can easily adapt to sea kayaking. The skills necessary to paddle a sea kayak can be learned quickly and easily by anyone in good health and reasonable fitness. Possessing a positive attitude and sense of adventure are more important than being in super shape.
